Dear Fellow Devotee,

In our culture, as all of you know, MOTHER is the first God, Guru, advisor and doctor. We respect and pray to mother and we preach to our children that Mother is above God. We start many prayers with MATRU DEVOO BHAVA. While we respect Mother as the first God, we do not have a special day dedicated to mothers. However in USA, we do have a day dedicated to all mothers and this year, it falls on May 9th.

In order to show our appreciation to all our mothers, we paln to have a special function named MATRU MURTHY SATKARA SEVA. We will have a special archana for all three Jagan Matas, Sri Saraswathi Devi, Sri Maha Lakshmi and Sri Parvathi Devi (also known as Gowri Mata and Mata Amba). We plan to do the archana on May 9th at 12 Noon. However on May 8th, we will have a special meal prepared by a distinguished group of volunteers (all men). This team is preparing a special dinner filled with dosas, idlis and many other items. Please see the attached brochure for menu and other details. There will be a minimum donaton of $5 for this meal. This dinner will be prepared by men and will be served by children to all the mothers in the community. This is such a unique occasion and a special way to show our appreciation to all mothers and ladies in our families who do so much for the entire family every day of their life. So please make sure you come that day and treat your mothers and other ladies in the family.

Since, this team of volunteers have to prepare for this dinner, we request you to please call and let any one of the volunteers listed in the brochure know how many people will be coming to this special dinner. Please do so before May 6th evening. Again the program for that day is as follows:

May 8th (Saturday)
5 to 8PM:  Special dinner for all mothers.

May 9th (Sunday and actual mothers day):
12 Noon: Special archana for three Jagan matas (Sri Saraswathi Devi, Sri Maha Lakshmi Devi and Sri Parvathi devi)

Also, again, we want to remind you that on June 25th, 26th and 27th, we will perform our Temple's second anniversary function and will also be performing punah prana prathishta for Sri Shirdi Sai Baba. Soplease keep those dates open and plan to participate in this very auspicious function.
