With the help of Hindu Heritage Camp we are planning to organize a Summer Camp with lot of fun filled activities. There are volunteers of Hindu Heritage Camp that would be coming from outside and staying in Grand Rapids to help us out with this event.

 

This Camp is free. All Donations would go towards West Michigan Hindu Temple.

 

This is a great opportunity for our kids to be in this kind of environment and learn about our culture in a fun filled perspective.

Camp will run from 9-4.30

Balavihar classes are starting from Thursday, September 18th, on the auspicious day of Sankata Hara Chathurthi.

 

From next week onwards Balavihar would be conducted every Friday 7.00 PM to 8.00 PM by Raji Prem Kumar. All kids are encouraged to register in this program to enrich their knowledge on Hinduism and our culture.

 

All classes will be conducted in the Community Center of our temple. Please make sure that your kids maintain discipline. Please let the kids know that it is very important for us to keep the temple clean and organized at all times. This Thursday will be a short one with just few slokas, prayers and blessings from Lord Ganesha. Younger kids need to be accompanied by parents at all times.

Dear All,

As the school holidays are nearing completion, we will be having a creative get-together with the kids at the temple. There will be shlokas, interactive story time and play time / coloring deities sketches fun activity for kids.

There will be an open hour for kids to perform their favorite songs/shlokas (vocal/instrumental).  A poem very special to our India "Vande Maataram" will be practiced as time permits, to celebrate 15th August, day of Freedom.

This Camp is free. Snacks and light lunch will be provided.

Thanks for the Great Response. We have over 40 kids signed up for the youth camp. With the help of Hindu Heritage Camp we are planning to organize a Summer Camp with lot of fun filled activities. There are volunteers of Hindu Heritage Camp that would be coming from outside and staying in Grand Rapids to help us out with this event.

 

We have Morning Yoga that will be taught by Sri P R Vedanarayanan.

SUMMER YOUTH CAMP TENTATIVE TIMELINE

Kids would be divided into the following three categories.

 

Shishu Gana   for Ages 5-8
Bala Gana for Ages 9-12
Kishore Gana for Ages 13 & Up
